Topic: Uncategorized|

I’m bringing back the poll!!!  I’ll do one every once in a while; participation is appreciated!

Since Autumn starts on Friday, and last weekend was soooo cool and refreshing, I thought I’d try to get some idea of what types of autumnal foods everyone is anticipating.

Apple season is going to be rough here this year; most of the local orchards lost their crop during the frost we had back in April.  My favorite orchard, Stolz’s Fruit Farm, outside New Carlisle, isn’t even making cider this year.  All their apples are imports from Indiana and Michigan.

PEARS! Where’s the listing for pears? Unlike apples, pears imho have a very small window when they are perfect. PEARS!

  2. Curt McAdams Says:

I didn’t think of pears to add, sorry! I just don’t think of them so much as a fall food, probably because they’re not extensively grown around me. Fall = harvest to me somewhat. Usually, apples are all over around here, just not this year.

Apple pie for sure :-) Beautiful, beautiful photos!

Nicole, thanks… I agree on the apple pie. And the photos are getting better… I pay attention to sites like Pinch My Salt and try to learn.
