Tomorrow morning we take off for Nelsonville, Ohio, for the Ohio Smoke Meat Festival!!!
It’s possibly going to be raining, so we’re not leaving until about 10:00 am, which should get us there about 12:30. We’ll have time to set up and prep well before the 6:00 PM Cook’s Meeting.
After last weekend, this cook should be a breeze! Just joking, really.
We’re definitely glad to have switched to Premium Standard Farms pork. We have butts and spares from there on the way tonight, along with prime grade briskets, all from Greg’s Prime Meats in Springboro, Ohio. If you’re in the area, stop in there and see just how great his product is!
My nephew, Todd, goes to school at Ohio University, and he along with other family are going to be at the comp tomorrow evening. We’re going to work on chicken, using them all as guinea pigs on what we want to do the next morning. My sister, Heather, is going to join us overnight as part of the team, too; she flew in today from Manhatten. Along with that, my sister, Kim, will again, as usual, join us to encourage us to hopefully a few walks this weekend. I don’t know yet if my mom will be there, but my niece, Maggie, will be showing off her new engagement ring along with her fiance, Judd!
Saturday, I’ll be toasting Woody, as it would have been his 15th birthday. It’s also Kim’s birthday… Happy birthday, Kim!!! Today is my Great Aunt Celia’s birthday, too; she’s 89 today, and a truly great aunt!
I’m kind of rambling today as I’m running late to get out the door to finish getting supplies for this weekend!!! Photos and a write up to follow…
